Dubai customs foil black magic items smuggling attempt

Animal bones, blood vials and talismans are among 1,200 items seized by
Dubai Customs officials in the largest haul of black magic objects at
Dubai International Airport this year, UAE daily Gulf News reported on Monday.

Inspectors
have detained two men after the items were discovered in their baggage
as they passed through the airport’s Terminal 3.

“Two Asian
passengers were suspected when their bags passed through the internal
inspection machines,” Ali Al Maghawi, Dubai Customs’ Director of Airport
Operations Department told Gulf News.

Numerous
sorcery-related objects including wicca literature, amulets, fish
skeletons, animal skins, potions, oysters and leaves were seized, the
report said.

“The practices of witchery and sorcery are a
dangerous phenomenon threatening the security of the community. They
manipulate minds of people by exploiting their troubles,” Al Maghawi
told the paper.

This is the 16th haul related to sorcery and witchcraft by customs officials this year, the report added.
